At Lowell Community Health Center our goal is to enrich patients' overall health and wellness by offering services and programs that take a holistic, or "whole" health approach. We seek to connect patients with information and skills for living a healthier lifestyle. Beyond primary medical care patients may choose to participate in support groups, health education programs, health topic seminars, mental health services, youth programs and many other offerings.

SUPPORT GROUPS
Depression Support Group - Relating to others who are experiencing depression in a safe and confidential setting helps those who battle depression to better understand the nature of the illness. A group for current patients of the Health Center. Call Cathy for more information at 978-322-8812.

Intensive Outpatient Program - Group counseling for individuals seeking to share the substance abuse recovery process with others in a safe and confidential setting. A group for current patients of the Health Center. Call Carl for more information at 978-937-9448.
HEALTH EDUCATION GROUPS & ADVISORY BOARDS
African Advisory Board - The African Advisory Board was formed to advocate for the needs of African patients and its members currently represent 7 different African countries. Members are educated about Health Center services and, in turn, advise the Health Center on concerns of African patients. Contact Mercy at 978-322-8536 for more information.
Chronic Disease Self Management Program - Developed by Stanford University this program helps individuals who live with long term health conditions, such as diabetes, arthritis, and heart disease better manage their illness. Individuals learn several tools including to problem solving, communicating with providers, improving fitness and using relaxation techniques. For more information, call Barbara at 978-322-8526. Classes are offered in multiple languages.
Promotores de Salud - a five week course to introduce patients to health care system, provide insurance options, and outline ways to improve family and community health. Reaksmey Sangkhim - Reaksmey Sangkhim provides culturally competent HIV/AIDS prevention and education services to adult Cambodian men and women living in the Lowell area. Southeast Asian Resources for Culture & Health - This newly created SEARCH program is designed to serve the needs of a growing Southeast Asian community in Greater Lowell. The program targets three growing groups of Southeast Asians: Cambodians, Laotians, and Vietnamese. Call Sidney for more information at 978-746-7829.
YOUTH DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
League of Youth (LOY) - Promotes healthy decision-making and addresses three core needs - health education, recreation/outreach, and adult support. The program consists of a 4-part series on health education directly provided to youth by trained Peer Leaders. The health education component focuses on lesson plans on abstinence, teen pregnancy prevention, substance abuse prevention, and violence prevention. The community event component gives Peer Leaders an opportunity to reach youth, provide resource information, and encourage responsible decision-making and creative expression.
Cambodian Youth Development Partnership (CYDP) Journey to Healing Program - Offered jointly with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Lowell engages Cambodian youth as peer leaders in addressing the unique needs of families that experienced the Khmer Rouge era and refugee resettlement with a special emphasis on creative expression and healthy coping strategies. CYDP challenges participants to reduce risk factors associated with alcohol and other drug use and the transmission of HIV and other STD's among Cambodian-American youth.
Teen Outreach Program (TOP) - Offered jointly with the United Teen Equality Center this effective program has been delivered in more than 35 states across the U.S. for more than 20 years with powerful results in reducing teen birth rates and school drop-out.
