We are proud to announce that CHEC is now a State Approved Training Site. Therefore, participants who complete the Comprehensive Outreach Education Certificate program will be eligible to apply for state certified Community Health Worker via the Combined Training & Work Experience Pathway.
Trainings are FREE to Lowell CHC staff and require Manager approval to attend.

These trainings are offered as part of a larger certificate program, the Comprehensive Outreach Education Certificate (COEC) Program. The COEC Program is a two-part training program that introduces Health Educators, Community Health Workers, and other public health professionals to a way of understanding health problems from a public health perspective. The training encourages participants to become proficient on a variety of health topics affecting diverse communities.
All workshops are open to any participant, and may be taken separately or as part of the Comprehensive Outreach Education Certificate.

LOWELL — Lowell Community Health Center’s Teen Block is bringing performers from across the Greater Lowell community to Lowell Memorial Auditorium, 50 E. Merrimack St., on Aug. 11.
Started in 1995, Dance 4 Peace is an annual youth-led community event focused on raising awareness about violence prevention. The Dance 4 Peace XXVII theme is “Sexual Assault: My Consent Must Be Given, Not Taken!”
This year’s performers are: Pichanny (singer), Mill Advised (dance crew), Rihanna (dancer), DanceVarsity (contemporary dance group), Lizzy (singer) and Adam Dance Project (Teen Block Dance Crew).
Tickets are between $5 and $10 (children 5 & under are free) if purchased before August 10th. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased online at https://conta.cc/3Qmngpt.
On July 13th, Lowell Community Health Center staff participated in a virtual listening session that will inform new federal policy around food quality and access. U.S. Rep. Lori Trahan hosted the virtual listening session. As a result of this program, local officials will share information and insight from the listening session with President Biden’s administration to inform future strategy on eliminating food and health disparities in the country.

“LOWELL — On Thursday, Lowell Community Health Center celebrated Juneteenth by unveiling a new panel to its first-floor timeline. The panel is titled ‘Acknowledging Injustice,’ to recognize that without the labor of enslaved workers in the South, the health center’s home in the historic Hamilton Mill building would not exist.”

Teen clinic (for teens and young adults, ages 13-24) will re-open on May 3, 2022, and will be taking place every Tuesday from 3-5pm. Services include: Information/education about sexual and reproductive health, birth control counseling and prescriptions, STI testing and treatment, pregnancy tests, emergency contraception, and condoms. All services are confidential and do NOT require parent consent. You do NOT have to be a Lowell CHC registered patient.
The 2022 Lowell Community Food Assessment was a collaborative project undertaken by Mill City Grows with funding, support, and participation of the REACH LoWELL initiative and the Greater Lowell Health Alliance (GLHA). This comprehensive report includes data received from more than 1,000 Lowell residents.
