Lowell Community Health Center Recognizes Oanh Buily as 2026 DAISY Award Honoree

Lowell Community Health Center is proud to announce Oanh Buily, RN, of the OB/GYN Department as its 2026 DAISY Award Honoree. Presented during National Nurses Week, the DAISY Award recognizes nurses whose clinical skill, compassion, and human connection leave a lasting impact on patients, families, and care teams.

Buily joined Lowell CHC in January 2025 and was selected from a record number of nominations submitted by colleagues across the health center. This year, Lowell CHC received 71 nominations recognizing 37 individual nurses.

“Oanh represents the very best of nursing at Lowell CHC,” said Elizabeth Hale, DNP, RN, CENP, Chief Operating Officer of Lowell Community Health Center. “Although she joined our team just last year, her colleagues already describe her as someone who brings calm, kindness, and respect to every interaction. She listens closely, supports her teammates, and helps patients feel safe and cared for. That kind of quiet leadership has a real impact.”

Oanh was repeatedly recognized by her peers for her compassion, humility, teamwork, and dedication to patient-centered care. Colleagues described her as kind, respectful, and approachable, with a calm presence that helps patients feel heard, comforted, and cared for. Coworkers also highlighted her steady performance under pressure, and her willingness to support both patients and colleagues whenever help is needed.

The DAISY Award was created by the DAISY Foundation in memory of J. Patrick Barnes, who died from complications of an autoimmune disease. DAISY stands for Diseases Attacking the Immune System. The award honors nurses who provide extraordinary clinical care with compassion and kindness. Lowell CHC is proud to have been the first community health center in the nation to present the DAISY Award annually.

The award was presented during a ceremony recognizing Buily, all of this year’s nominees, and the vital role nurses play across Lowell CHC.
